The Northwest College equine judging team earned Reserve World Champions, and two team members were in the top five overall in the Junior College Division, at a contest in Oklahoma City.
The team traveled to Oklahoma recently and competed at the AQHA World Show in the NHJTCA Reining Contest held in cooperation with AQHA and NRHA. Team members, including Adelene Royes, Jasmine Brinley, Olivia Cottam and Avalon Ponce, competed against junior colleges and universities for titles and awards. The contest consisted of judging two sets of 10 horses (both live and video), a written test and penalty clip test (video). The team was coached by faculty members Pamila Thiel and Anne Sherwood.
The final results included:

• 1st High Individual Overall - Junior Division
• 9th High Individual Overall - All College Division

• 5th High Individual Overall - Junior Division
