The return of this year’s Lenten Concert Series will continue at noon on Wednesday, Feb. 28 in the Union Presbyterian Church with a performance from the Sunlight String Quartet and some homemade soups and breads.
The quartet is made up of Maurine Akin and Kaci Sessions on the violin, Laurie Lee on the viola and Linda Murray on the cello. The group also performed the second concert of the Lenten Concert series 12 years ago.
There is no charge for the event but free-will donations can be given at the door. All proceeds will go to a scholarship fund for Powell’s elementary schools to use for students as needed.
