CodyArts’ premier Halloween party, The Haunt, is Saturday, Oct. 24 at Olive Glenn Golf Club. The Haunt is an immersive and experiential art installation to raise money for CodyArts Gallery + Creative Center, a local, nonprofit community arts organization.
This is not your ordinary Halloween event. Since February a dozen dedicated volunteer artists have collaborated and created artistic pieces to convert the entire Olive Glenn Golf Club into a festive visual feast. Though not a ‘haunted house’ (no one is jumping out of the corner to scare you) around every corner is another curiosity and visual spectacle to behold.
The finger-food buffet menu, which is included with all tickets, is created by professional food artists and curated for the event. Specialty cocktails are available for $5 and proceeds directly benefit CodyArts. There is also a cash bar. DJ2Tone rounds out the party with a vast repertoire of music for all ages.
Grand prize for the costume contest is $1,000 cash, where artistry and creativity are encouraged and rewarded. As a result, people show up in their best and it’s fun to bear witness. Other costume categories are: Best Couple/Group costume, Funniest and Scariest.
Many generous business and individual sponsors support The Haunt. Sponsors are featured in the Big Top sponsor area and receive special treatment for their added contributions, including two free reserved seat tickets, a private food table, the ability to preorder wine, as well as drink service in their premier section.
Reserved tables can pre-order wine for their table in advance, plus each ticket holder receives a drink ticket for a specialty cocktail. Or, individuals may purchase reserved seat tickets separately.
Doors open early at 6 p.m. for sponsors and reserved seat ticket holders to allow for a less crowded viewing opportunity and first run at the food and bar. Reserved ticket sales end at midnight Thursday, Oct. 22. General admission begins at 7 p.m. and tickets are available online until noon Saturday, Oct. 24 and at the door.
Tickets and sponsor information are available at CodyArts.org. Tickets can also be purchased at CodyArts, 836 Sheridan Ave., downtown Cody, next to the Visitors Center. This is a 21 and up event, patrons will be id’ed at the door.
