Robert was born in Rockwall, Texas on Dec. 10, 1921. He grew up on a farm and raised hogs with his brother Knox as a boy. After high school Bob traveled around the country and played basketball in various cities with five other men. This was something he really enjoyed. In 1964 Bob and Claudine were transferred to Powell, where he worked for Amoco Production Co. for 35 years. He lived in the same house in Powell and retired in 1983. Bob loved his family and people and would help anyone just because it was the right thing to do. He was loved by many and will be missed dearly by those who knew him.

Bob was a member of the Powell School Board and served as president for several years. He enjoyed golf and was a member of the Powell Golf Course for many years. He donated much of his time to the preservation and building of the Powell course and spearheaded the design and completion of the back nine at the course along with several other men who loved the game of golf.
