Reinhold Lester ‘Bud’ Vigansky

(July 31, 1920 - April 24, 2012)Reinhold Lester “Bud” Vigansky, 91, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012 at Spirit Mountain Hospice House in Cody. He was born July 31, 1920, in Bridgman, Mich., the son of Edward and Villiminia (Ott) Vigansky.

Bud was baptized in 1920 and confirmed in 1933 in the Lutheran Church of Bridgman, Mich.

Bud married Ann Birczak of Niles, Mich., on Aug. 18, 1940 in South Bend, Ind.

Bud, and the love of his life, lived and worked in Michigan, Indiana,  Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and Nevada as an electrician on many power houses. He loved being an electrician and had many stories of various jobs and fellow workers.

Bud enjoyed sight-seeing, camping, fishing, four-wheel Jeeping in the mountains of Colorado with his family in his earlier years.

Upon returning to Cody in 2009, Bud was pleased to be able to help as needed at the Senior Center. Receiving letters, cards and pictures from grandchildren, family and friends was a highlight of his days.

Bud is survived by his son, Larry of Tucson, Ariz.; daughter, Sandra (Gary) Briggs of Cody; son-in-law, Norman Harvey of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren Barbara (Blair) Hirzel of Carson City, Nev., Steve (Verlet) Briggs, of Campo, Calif., Larry (Amie) Briggs of Woonsocket, R.I., RaeAnn (Will) Garrett of Loveland, Colo., and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 62 years Ann, granddaughter Suzanne Hitchcock Bond, great-grandson Christopher Hitchcock, brother Ray, sister Helen D’Agostino, daughter Nannatte Harvey and adopted son Robert Madigan.

Cremation has taken place.

A memorial service will be held at a later date with burial at Riverside Cemetery in Cody.

Ballard Funeral Home in Cody is in charge of arrangements.
