Michael George Chretien died Wednesday, Aug. 3 from injuries received in a one-vehicle rollover near Butte, Mont. He was 38.

Michael was born March 24, 1973 in Malden, Mass., to George and Susan (Flynn) Chretien. He received his bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southwestern University in Americus, Ga. He married Claudette Richter on Nov. 28, 1998 in Ft. Benning, Ga. Michael served as captain in the U.S. Army from 1993-2000. For the past four years, he worked as a sergeant with the Powell Police Department.

Michael enjoyed hunting, camping, shooting, skiing and spending time with his family and friends.

Michael is survived by his wife Claudette, son Joe, daughters Gabrielle and Liberty; parents, George and Susan Chretien; and sister Megan (Saad) Samadi of Davenport, Fla.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 12 at the Northwest College Cabre Gym. Pallbearers will be Powell Police Department officers.

Cremation has taken place.
