Nicholas “Nic” John Jacobson, 26, of Grand Junction, Colo., died of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Thursday, July 7, 2011.
He was born in Powell on Aug. 24, 1984. He moved to Grand Junction with his family in 1991 and attended Grand Junction High School.
Nic was diagnosed at age 6 with juvenile diabetes and faced multiple medical complications throughout his life. Despite his hardships, he tried to have a good outlook on life. His exuberance and sense of humor was his biggest attribute. He enjoyed joking and bonding with everyone around him.
Nic found happiness in repairing cars and motorcycles and spending time with friends and family. He loved to attend car shows and auto races.
Nic is survived by his mother, Debbie Jacobson of Grand Junction; sister Elizabeth Jacobson of Fort Collins, Colo.; uncles John Jacobson of Powell and Stan Jacobson of Grand Junction; aunt and uncle Ken and Becky Campeau of Alto Boquete, Panama; and aunt Linda Perreira of Maui, Hawaii. He had many close friends who will miss him.
Mesa Funeral Services was in charge of arrangements.
