Edna ‘Maxine’ Ellis

Edna “Maxine” (Anderson) Ellis, 84, died Wednesday, June 17, at Hill Country Care in Dripping Springs, Texas. Maxine was born Sept. 11, 1924, in Powell, the daughter of a farmer, Edward William Anderson, and his wife, Mildred Mae Anderson, the state superintendent of schools for Wyoming.

Maxine graduated from Cheyenne High School in 1942 and married the love of her life, Orvil “Boyd” Ellis, in 1943 at Fort F.E. Warren in Cheyenne.

They enjoyed a 53-year marriage while traveling around the world. Maxine was a long-standing member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, including the Second Ward of Yuma, Arizona; a ward in Nevada and the Lake Travis Ward of Austin, Texas.

Maxine is survived by several nieces, a nephew, and several cousins she grew up with and dearly loved: Phyllis Yager of Cody; Keith Bloom of Powell; Duane Anderson of Ankeny, Iowa; and sister and brothers-in-law, Margaret Jeppesen of Hawthorne, Calif.; Bill Ellis of Ogden, Utah; and Keith Ellis of Moses Lake, Wash.

Maxine will be interred in Minden, Nev., with her husband. Donations can be made to the Boys and Girls Clubs of America.
