Word has been received here of the death May 5 in Waldron, Ark., of former Powell resident Lena Jones.
She died at the Waldron Nursing Center.
She lived in Powell for many years, having come to the community after World War II to work with a niece, Iva Darling.
She worked at Eddie’s Shoe Store and Nellemay’s Dress Shop in Powell.
Her husbands, Bud Phillips, and Paul Jones of Waldron, Ark., preceded her in death. She had no children. She is survived by nieces and nephews in the Powell area.
