Memorial services for former Powell resident Lucille M. Martin, who died Saturday, Sept. 9 at Lander Valley Regional Medical Center, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15 at Thompson Funeral Home in Powell. She was 88.

Ed Flom will officiate at the service. Cremation has taken place.

Lucille Marie Thompson was born to Clay and Minnie Thompson in Powell on Feb. 20, 1918. She was a lifelong resident of Powell where was graduated from Powell High School and enjoyed school reunion activities year after year. She had been a resident of the Showboat Retirement Center in Lander since 2005.

She spent many years volunteering at the nursing home and as a Senior Companion. Her family said she enjoyed needlework, crocheting, gardening, and traveling. She loved to work, owning and operating the Coffee Cup Café in Powell for 18 years. Her family was very important to her.

Survivors include sons E. Tom Martin and wife Vickie of Sheridan, Richard R. Martin and wife Marcia of Powell and Garry Martin and wife Debbie of Lander; daughter Sharon Hufford of Riverton; nine grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl B. Martin; her parents; a sister, Peggy; a brother, Mick; and son-in-law Tom Hufford.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
