Carl G. Hill, 82, died of cancer, Saturday, Aug. 20 at his home in Ogden, Utah, surrounded by his family.

He was born Feb. 12, 1923 in Garland, Utah, to Joseph Vernal and Christena Hill.Besides Garland, he lived in Clear Creek, Utah and homesteaded his beloved farm in Powell  in 1949.

He moved to Ogden in 1991 and married Helen Cornfeld. A veteran of WWII, Carl served with the U.S. Army from 1943-1946 and saw action in the Philippines.

Preceding him in death were his first wife, Wanetta Dill, and their son David; Carl's parents, two brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are his wife Helen, two sons, two daughters, eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, seven brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., Ogden, UT. Friends may call at the mortuary on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday 10 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, Ogden, UT. For those who wish, the family requests donations be made in Carl's name to Primary Children's Hospital Cancer Ward.
