Marcella D. Roche, 78, formerly of Lovell, died March 18 at her home in Puyallup, Wash.
She was born Jan. 17, 1926, in Minneapolis, Minn., the daughter of Mary and James Dwyer. She was the second of seven children -- one boy and six girls.
She married Rocky Roche in Minneapolis Sept. 20, 1947. They moved to Lovell in 1950 making their home and raising a family of three girls, Mary, Irene and Betty.
She developed many talents throughout her life including journalist/editor, radio announcer, TV sales, spiritual counselor, artist, lecturer/teacher, and psychotherapist. However, the most powerful drive in her life was her Irish heritage and her faith. She was a practicing Benedictine Oblate for many years.
In 1998, the Roches moved to Puyallup, Wash., to be near their daughter, Mary. She also enjoyed gardening, reading and making friends.
Her family and friends will miss her laughter, kindness, wit, and love, taking comfort in the belief she went right to an Irish celebration in heaven with those who preceded her.
Her devoted husband, Rocky; daughters, Mary, Irene and Betty, 10 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren survive her.
Funeral services were held Monday March 22, with burial in Tahoma National Cemetery in Kent, Wash.
