James P. Lyon died Jan. 11, 2011 after a short illness. He was 87.
He was born in Denver, Colo., on June 3, 1923 to Eugene O. and Hilda P. Lyon.
James grew up in Denver and after serving in the Navy during World War II, he returned to Denver and married H. Marie Wood on June 21, 1947. They lived and worked in Denver until their retirement, when they moved to Powell. They celebrated 63 years of marriage together.
Jim’s first love was his family. He also loved a good game of golf and softball, which he played long into his senior years.
He is survived by his wife, Marie; two children, Cheryl (Gene) Shuler of Powell and Tim (Cam) Lyon of Evanston; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
