Manderson resident Ty Ross Aagard, formerly of Powell, died suddenly in a farming accident in Manderson on Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013. He was 25.

Ty was born to Olaf Aagard and Patti McIntosh Hufford on Oct. 25, 1987, in Cody.

In Ty’s short 25 years, he attended Powell schools. He was living and working as a farm/ranch hand for his fiancée, Michelle Mullins family. He loved his work but also loved riding and training horses. His hobbies included leatherwork and working cows. He took great pride in loaning out his old trusty horse, Clarence, to 4-H kids. Ty attended many a horse sale where he would look to find his next “prospect” with confidence that it would be a top-notch horse.

He was preceded in death by one brother Travis Aagard and his mother Patti Hufford.

Ty leaves behind a fiancée Michelle Mullins of Manderson; father Olaf Aagard of Cody; brother Trent Aagard of Casper; sister Marcy (Del) Friedly of Powell; a niece, Shelby Willis, and a nephew, TJ Willis, both of Powell. He had many adopted nieces and nephews as well.

A celebration of life “cowboy style” was held Aug. 17 at Del and Marcy’s residence.

There is a memorial fund set up at Security State Bank, P.O. Box 531, Basin, WY 82410-0460 to benefit 4-H kids as Ty wouldn’t want it any other way.

Atwood Family Funeral Directors, Inc. assisted the family with arrangements.
