Dozens of handmade quilts will be on display at the Yellowstone Quilt Fest from Sept. 12-14 in Cody. This year’s theme is “What’s Blooming in Wyoming?”

“There will be so many things to enjoy at this year’s quilt show, including the New Tea Room, where cookies, bars and drinks will be served in the Cody Room while you are visiting,” said Marybeth Richardson of Powell, an organizer of the annual festival.

The fun begins with a Sneak Preview Reception on Thursday night. There will be fun choices at the silent auction table, which will be awarded at the end of the reception Thursday and at the end of each show day.

For guests’ enjoyment and enlightenment, there will be several “break-out” demonstrations on Friday and Saturday. Vendors will be on hand to visit with attendees.

Paintbrush Piecers Quilt Guilds will welcome guests to the gift boutique.

Bring scissors, pinking shears and rotary blades to be sharpened at the show. Also, you can have your non-electronic sewing machine (antique, featherweights and cranks) cleaned or repaired while you enjoy the quilts.

The sneak preview reception takes place from 5-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 12 at the Cody Auditorium. The show continues from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13, and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14. The entry fee for each day is $5. For more information, call the 2019 Yellowstone Quilt Fest chairperson Barbara Pike at 307-213-5194.
