Willamae (Mae) Earlene Epley Barlow of Powell died Thursday, June 13, 2019, at the New Horizon Care Center in Lovell. She was 90.
Mae was born May 23, 1929, in Howe, Oklahoma, to Kathleen Townley. She was the younger of two girls. She graduated from high school there where she was the Senior Prom Queen.
She married George Wendell Barlow in Oklahoma. With her husband George, she raised two sons In Oklahoma, James Barlow and Gerald Barlow, both of Powell.
Mae was known as a hard-working American woman. She worked at Max’s Super Market in Powell for 10 years and then at Food Basket IGA in Powell for 30 years.
She will be missed by local family and cousins in Oklahoma and by all who knew her. Mae never missed a single yard sale anywhere in the area and always had an ongoing yard sale at her place.
Graveside services and burial will be conducted Tuesday, June 18, at 2 p.m. at Crown Hill Cemetery in Powell, with Dennis Monroy officiating.
