What does it mean to be a Republican?

Dear Editor:

If I see a 3-year-old throw a temper tantrum because he wasn’t allowed to eat all his Christmas candy in one sitting, I might find it funny. But when thousands of armed adults exhibit the same behavior, egged on by the supposed “leader of the free world” and his lackeys, I think the consequences need to be more severe than a “time-out” at Mar-a-Lago.

Now Liz Cheney, who until recently would have been considered a quintessential Republican, is being attacked for agreeing with me. This simply reinforces my belief that the only guiding principle of the Republican Party, at least on a national level, is to “own the libs.”

Matt Gaetz came to town last week and told Wyoming to shut down the government. That’s not how democracy works. And by the way, since when did Wyomingites sit still for ANYONE coming here from back east and telling us what to do?
