Weavers and Spinners plan busy spring

The Yellowstone Weavers and Spinners Guild will have a few busy weeks coming up.

A regular meeting will be held from 1-4 p.m. Saturday at the Park County Weed and Pest Building, 1067 Road 13, in Powell.  The club will discuss its upcoming invitations, get togethers and demonstrations.

A “spin-in” is set for April 20 at Gestalt Studios in Powell and a meeting will be held May 8 at a location to be determined later.

Part of the discussion will center on holding a work day to prepare kits for weaving demonstrations. They will require small balls of yarn with about 20 yards each and there will be two per kit. Cardboard is already on hand and the club has ordered plastic needles to go into the kits, which will be packaged in plastic bags.

The demonstrations will take place May 10 at Livingston Elementary School in Cody and May 11 at Westside Elementary in Powell. There will also be a demonstration May 21 at John Wesley Powell Days Kid’s Carnival. Members may also have items on hand to sell during the two-day event.
