Looking for some volleyball action the whole family can enjoy? Mark your calendar for the “Can U Dig It” volleyball matchup on Monday at Powell High School, featuring a competition between the Lady Panthers and Powell Valley Healthcare.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the event begins with dinner outside the back (northeast) of the school. The volleyball match begins at 6:30 p.m. in the Panther Gym. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under, which includes dinner (hamburger, chips, beverage and dessert) and a ticket for a chance to win up to $100. Five lucky winners from the drawing will get to test their volleyball skills and could walk away with some prize money.
The event is sponsored by the Powell Medical Foundation and Powell Valley Healthcare and hosted in cooperation with Powell High School and the Powell Athletic Roundtable. All proceeds from the event benefit the Powell Athletic Roundtable to support local athletes.
“We are really excited about this event and hope that it generates excitement about PHS volleyball,” said Lady Panther head coach Lesli Spencer.
The Powell Athletic Roundtable is the longest-standing athlete supporting entity in the state. For more than 70 years, starting back in 1949, the Roundtable has supported local athletes by fundraising and providing needed supplies and equipment to Powell High School and Powell Middle School. To become a member of the Powell Athletic Roundtable, watch for information at the volleyball match.
