VaNesa Ray Jensen passed away at her home in Powell on July 11, 2020. She is survived by her parents Larry and Lola (Worrell) Jensen of Powell; her siblings Jared and Terri (Jamison) Jensen of Idaho Falls, Idaho; and Russ Hiatt and MaLessa Jensen of Powell. She also leaves behind two nieces, Kathryn and Emily Jensen; three nephews, Dawson Hiatt and Marcus and Timothy Jensen; and a grandfather, Kenny Worrell.
She was currently employed at Northwest College. VaNesa was born on Dec. 27, 1980, in St. Anthony, Idaho. She grew up in the Thermopolis, Wyoming, area and in Powell. She attended school at Lucerne Elementary near Thermopolis, Parkside Elementary, Powell Middle School, and Powell High School where she participated in debate and refined her passionate spirit.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her love and dedication to her savior inspired her to answer the call to serve. She was released for medical complications before her mission was complete. She received her associate’s degree in elementary education from Northwest College.
VaNesa’s vivid imagination drew her to books and movies of wonder. She loved to discuss her latest read with her siblings and inspire her nieces, nephews, and those around her to exercise their imagination within the pages of books. Her dedication to her passions, fantasy or family, are some of the memories she leaves everyone she has touched.
Although VaNesa may be considered short in stature, the size of her heart was never questioned. She naturally treated others with compassion, evident in interactions with family, friends, colleagues and customers. Her love for children, especially those with disabilities, led her to many opportunities in employment and church service to work with those so dear to her.
VaNesa will be interred in the Chester Cemetery in Idaho, near other relatives. Her unique personality and spirit will ever be present in our hearts and memories. Although we may be separated at this time, you will always be loved and never forgotten.
