UW announces football captains for 2019 season

Five players — including two Wyoming natives — will serve as captains for the University of Wyoming Cowboys football team during the 2019 season.

On Saturday, UW head coach Craig Bohl named senior linebacker Logan Wilson, senior tight end Josh Harshman, senior defensive end Josiah Hall, senior wide receiver Austin Conway and redshirt freshman quarterback Sean Chambers as captains.

Wilson, a Casper native, is a three-time captain for the Cowboys and has started every game of his college career (39 straight). He enters the season with 316 career tackles, which ranks No. 2 among all current Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) players.

Harshman, who played alongside Wilson at Natrona County High School, has played in 41 games for the Pokes at tight end. He has 23 receptions for 246 yards with one touchdown.

Wyoming will kick off the 2019 season at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, hosting the Missouri Tigers of the SEC. It’s only the second time UW has hosted an SEC team.
