Dear Editor:
I found your newspaper opinion of Jan. 28 quite disingenuous.
You make a point of specific instances of people who have not worn masks as “examples of the astounding amounts of hypocrisy displayed by people who were entrusted with managing this crisis.” Your examples were only of the current party in power. I find that interesting.
Where were you and your opinion on the previous administration’s “astounding amounts of hypocrisy” in managing this pandemic? “Oh, we are rounding the corner.” I get it. Instead of calling a “spade a spade,” you choose to call out a specific instance of what has become a partisan issue. I might add the question of “and who made mask wearing a partisan issue?”
We are all aware now of “words matter.” It would seem that the opinions of your paper are only made to pander to a specific segment of the population and that you only have an opinion on the facts that this segment agrees with. I am sure this is to sell papers, not to tell inconvenient truths.
Maybe your editorial board needs opinions from someone who does not always agree with you so that we all can have discussions that matter, even when the facts and truth are not ones we like.
