Northwest College is set to host its annual Trapper Bonanza fundraiser on Friday and Saturday, June 2-3, at the Powell Golf Club.

The weekend will kick off with a steak dinner on Friday night at 6 p.m. at the golf club.

Those who are entered in the golf tournament will have the dinner included for free, those who wish to attend but not golf will be able to get dinner for $20.

“It’s always a good event to get people together and promote Trapper athletics,” Northwest Athletic Director Brian Erickson said. “It’s a different event for us to get off campus and get people together.”

During the evening festivities the Trappers will host a Calcutta — where those in attendance can bet on the golf teams that will be participating the next day and purchase the team they believe will win the 10th through 15th holes on Saturday.

Golfers will tee off at 10 a.m. Saturday at the golf course, and will consist of a four person scramble format.

There will be winners for competitions such as longest drive, closest to the pin and longest putt.

Hole No. 9 will host the Trapper Challenge, which will be an alternate shot format that will see the winner get $500.

Erickson said there is typically a tie for that competition, so a tiebreaker will be a chip from the deck by the clubhouse down to the putting green to see who is closest to the pin.

There will be raffle prizes available, tickets will be sold in the morning before the golf begins and will be drawn at its conclusion.

“Our booster club board has been a great support of making this happen,” Erickson said.

There is a limit of 24 teams that can enter the event, a single player can enter for $110 and a team can enter for $440.

The golf fees include the Friday night dinner, a drink ticket and the golf tournament and cart fees on Saturday.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Trapper Athletic Scholarships.
