Thora Ada ‘Teddy’ Hansen

(Oct. 15, 1935 - May 23, 2018) Teddy Hansen passed away after a long illness on May 23, 2018, at Spirit Mountain Hospice House in Cody. She was 82. 

She was born on Oct. 15, 1935, in Lovell, Wyoming. Teddy was the fourth and youngest child of Thora Welch and Lester L. Baldwin. She attended the Lovell schools. 

Teddy married Robert F. “Bob” Hansen on March 4, 1951, in Lovell. They were blessed with three children: Terri Lee, Robbie Ann, and Robert Scott.

Teddy was a hard worker and enjoyed working. She had many different jobs, which included working at the North Big Horn and Powell hospitals in their business offices for many years. She also worked at Husky Oil Corporation in Cody.

Teddy was a people person and was great at customer service and sales. She started her own business in retail sales in which she traveled around the region selling western clothing and accessories. Teddy was a cowgirl at heart and was comfortable in her boots and jeans.

She had an adventurous spirit. Her husband, Bob, was a trucker for 35 years. She trucked with him and helped drive the semi-truck when needed. She worked in construction, in the food industry, and also managed a restaurant. Teddy worked as a cook in the kitchen at the Powell hospital for many years before retiring at age 78. 

Teddy was an artist, a songwriter, a musician, and she played several instruments. She loved to perform. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, crafts, cooking, reading, and caring for her family. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Teddy held many different callings in the church and had a deep and abiding faith in her Lord and Redeemer, Jesus Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother Everett Welch Baldwin; her husband Bob; her son Scott and her daughter Robbie Ann. 

Teddy is survived by her daughter, Terri Lee (Loyd) of Powell; her two sisters, Juanita Laing of Mills and Clarabelle Benson of Billings, Montana. She is also survived by her grandchildren Jennifer (Steph) Holden of Escondido, California, Taya (Adrien) Talbot of Boise, Idaho, Chris (Annie) Hilton of Fort Gratiot, Michigan, Tanner (Deena) Timmons of Ashland, Missouri, Trevor (Jessi) Timmons of Powell, Tom (Jamie) Hilton of Chubbuck, Idaho, Elizabeth Clark of Houston, Texas, and Rachel Clark; and great-grandchildren Trennon and Tymberlyn Talbot, Madison, Tristan, Liberty and Asher Timmons, Alice Dalke, Avery and Oliver Timmons, and Orin Letherman-Onstine. 

Services will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Avenue E in Powell at 2 p.m. Friday, June 1. The viewing will be at 1 p.m. in the Relief Society Room with interment at the Lovell Cemetery.
