The unwanted speed change in Clark

Dear Editor:

I  am writing to express my dissatisfaction with the new speed limits in Clark. The speed limit has been in place for decades. Many people in Clark depend on getting to places on time. Unlike Commissioner Lloyd Thiel, I don’t live less than one minute from the highway. I feel like Lloyd is the old man yelling from his house for the kids to stay off his grass just because he “thinks” it’s too fast. Especially when a majority of residents and the speed survey don’t feel it’s warranted. And I sure didn’t get to take a survey asking my opinion. I am guessing they just stopped asking after getting so many nos so their numbers wouldn’t be so skewed. I would even bet the number is closer to 80-90% than 65% because they didn’t want to waste their time driving out here where the rest of us live. If they want to stop the wrecks in Clark, stop the drunks coming from the bar. Most all the accidents that I know of were alcohol-related, not speed. I will be recommending to everyone I know not to re-elect these commissioners who are so ready to override the will of a majority of people and science-based road studies. This action was unneeded and uncalled for. I will recommend voting for anyone who will restore the speed limit as it was safe before.
