Dear Editor:
The road widening on North Absaroka Street that was finished up last autumn is clearly an improvement, but like many others who live on this street, I knew there’d be some fallout from this makeover.
On any given day, there are a number of speeding pickup trucks and lesser sedans that fly down what has become Powell’s newest “highway.”
Despite notifying the police on multiple occasions, this problem clearly persists with little sign that any kind of law enforcement is addressing the problem. I suppose the death or serious injury to one of our youth riding a bicycle or skateboard will have an impact in reducing this problem, but what a stain on our community that the sacrifice of a young life might be the price.
