On May 26, 2021, Teresa G. Alexander left this world suddenly due to heart complications associated with Mitral Valve Prolapse.

Just two weeks after her 64th birthday, Teresa left behind a great legacy, and her spirit went in search of another great adventure alongside the many great friends and family members who preceded her.

She lives on in our hearts and memories. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister and grandmother. She loved life, nature, laughter and feeling beautiful. It wasn’t out of the ordinary to find our mom pointing out a cool looking dragonfly or picking up a rock in the shape of a heart to add to her collection. Only she understood the significance of those objects, but each time we lay our eyes on them we are reminded of her and her love for us. Our duty, in her honor, is to live life to the fullest each day.

Teresa was born in Grand Junction, Colorado, on May 12, 1957, to Clifford and Shirley Thomas. While she ventured away from Powell a few times during her life, she always returned knowing Wyoming was where her family, friends and home was. Teresa married Tracy Copenhaver (they had two children) and after they divorced, she married Mike Alexander. The couple later divorced.

Teresa graduated from Powell High School and went on to receive her cosmetology license. She worked as a cosmetologist, dental assistant, aerobics instructor … and full-time mom, of course. She enjoyed spending time on her boat in Lake Yellowstone, playing on the beach with her family when visiting, camping, the outdoors, fitness and weight training, gardening, fashion, doing hair, biking and caring for others. She spent many days at the nursing home where she would put her cosmetology and listening skills to the test.

Teresa was preceded in death by her father, Clifford Thomas, and her nephew, Jarred Oliver.

She is survived by her mother, Shirley Thomas, of Powell; her close friend, Tim Courtade, of Powell; her son Ryan (JoLynn) Copenhaver and their children, Ross and Hannah, of Peoria, Arizona; her daughter Alisa (Brent) Bissell and their children, Natalie and Kennedy, of Woodland Hills, California; her brother Darren (Julie) Thomas, of Powell; her sisters, Sherry (Marshal) Robin, of Quartzsite, Arizona, and Kelly (Jim) Johnson, of Pahrump, Nevada; nieces and nephews: Toby Robin, Tonya Boardman, and Nick Oliver.

Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at New Life Church in Powell, on July 16, 2021, at 10 a.m., with burial at Crown Hill Cemetery. Tim Morrow will be officiating.
