State GOP picks replacement for George

At a special Saturday meeting, the Wyoming Republican Central Committee selected Corey Steinmetz of Lingle to serve as the state party’s national committeeman.

Steinmetz replaces former Park County resident Richard George, who recently moved to Nebraska to take a new job in farm management.

The husband of state Sen. Cheri Steinmetz, Corey Steinmetz has been active in the Wyoming GOP for a number of years in a variety of capacities. He’s served multiple terms as chairman of the Goshen County Republican Party and has been an active Republican leader, said party chairman Frank Eathorne.

“He was elected due to the members’ beliefs in his devotion to the timeless principles of the Republican Party,” Eathorne said.

Steinmetz will represent Wyoming Republicans at the national level alongside Eathorne and National Committeewoman Marti Halverson. He will also be an automatic delegate to the 2020 Republican National Convention.
