Two Park County Sheriff’s deputies completed basic training at the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy last week and will now assume their new duties as patrol deputies.
Deputy Tyler Patterson will patrol the Powell area while Deputy Ethan Robinson has been assigned to the Cody District. Both deputies had previously worked in the Park County Detention Center, transferring to patrol to assume positions that become open after retirements.
Patterson joined the sheriff’s office as a detention deputy in November 2017. He has an associate’s degree in emergency medical technician and fire science from Casper College. Originally from Seattle, Patterson moved to Powell with his family in 2006. He’s the son of retired sheriff’s lieutenant (and current Northwest College instructor) Dave Patterson.
Deputy Robinson joined the sheriff’s office in April 2017, also as a detention deputy. He was born and raised in Bellefontaine, Ohio, and relocated to Cody in 2014 to become a member of the county’s search and rescue unit. Robinson continues to volunteer with Search and Rescue today. He attended Hocking College in Nelsonville, Ohio, where he earned two associates degrees: one in natural resources law enforcement and another in wildlife management.
