With Thanksgiving and Christmas on the horizon, Powell will host its first holiday festivity of the season on Thursday.
Sample the Season takes place from 5-7 p.m., as residents are invited to take an evening stroll and visit participating businesses for tasty treats and discounts.
The annual event is a local favorite and an opportunity to slow down, greet friends and enjoy a festive holiday experience, said Christine Bekes, executive director of the Powell Economic Partnership.
“Powell has some amazing new boutiques in town,” she said. “With about 1,000 people exploring our shops while sampling some homemade goodies, it is a fun evening!”
Participating businesses are featured on Pages 10-11 in today’s Tribune. Shoppers also can pick up a list of participating businesses from the Powell Chamber in front of The Commons on Thursday night.
Holiday festivities will continue next week, as Santa arrives via helicopter on Friday, Nov. 29. After he touches down, Santa’s Workshop will follow from 10 a.m. to noon at The Commons.
Country Christmas will return Dec. 6-8, with a gift show, lighted parade, tour of homes, tree lighting and more.
