It's just the latest in a series of local sporting events that have been called off due to the wintry weather.
Middle and high school track meets in Burlington, which had been set for Friday and Saturday, respectively, were also canceled, according to the Basin Republican Rustler. Meanwhile, the Montana State University Billings baseball team attempted to escape wet conditions in Montana by playing in Cowley this weekend, but the Yellowjackets also had to scrap that plan.
Soccer, however, still remains on tap as of Friday morning. The Panthers are playing quite a bit further south, in a Green River tournament, while the Lady Panthers soccer squad is set to compete in a tourney in Worland. The Powell boys are set to face Torrington at 1:30 p.m. while the girls are slated to face Rawlins at 2:30 p.m.
