The Wyoming Army National Guard Recruiting and Retention Battalion graduated nine soldiers from its Recruit Sustainment Program last month, including Pfc. Jett Flores of Powell.

Flores and the other soldiers completed Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training, and are now ready to join their new units within the Wyoming Army National Guard.

Flores will be serving with the 960th Brigade Support Battalion as a culinary specialist. He is the son of Chauna and Mike Flores.

Flores said he was inspired to join the Guard by his uncle and grandfather, who both served in the military. In his civilian career, Flores said he plans to become an emergency medical technician.

Soldiers in the Wyoming Army National Guard receive opportunities and benefits including 100 percent in-state tuition coverage, health insurance and retirement benefits for part-time service.
