The Powell Golf Club hosted its annual Big Horn Basin Junior Tournament Thursday, Aug. 1, with 23 golfers ranging in age from 7 to 17 participating in the event.
Kirk Thomas scored a four-stroke victory over Andy Anderson in the boys’ 14-17 division, carding a 50 for nine holes; Anderson finished with a 54.
Brynlee Birch finished in the top spot in the girls’ 11-13 division, firing a 54. Chloe Rose was the runner-up in that division, carding a 68.
In the boys’ 11-13 division, Mason McCollam finished first with 48, followed closely by Matt Pratt with a 49. Max Cooley rounded out the top three, carding a 53 on the day.
Olivia Bracke was the lone entrant in the girls’ 7-8 division. She finished with a 26 through five holes for the win.
Broxton Birch took the top spot in the boys’ 9-10 division, firing a 22. Marshall Rose carded a 34 in the runners-up spot.
Just a single stroke separated the top three finishers in the boys’ 7-8 division, with Tucker Schramm holding off Ben Bracke and Bryton Birch for the win. Schramm carded a 25, followed by Bracke with a 26 and Birch with a 27. Blaine Riley just missed the top three, finishing with a 28.
