Five Powell High School athletes were recently recognized for exemplary conduct and good sportsmanship.
The Wyoming High School Activities Association presented Good Sportsmanship Awards to these students for their conduct at the following competitions:
• Sabrina Shoopman and Aidan Jacobsen for the Lovell vs. Powell basketball games on Jan. 31.
• Emma Karhu for the Lander vs. Powell wrestling match on Feb. 7.
• Carson Olsen for the Cody vs. Powell wrestling match on Feb. 11.
• Madi Fields and Jacobsen for the Thermopolis vs. Powell basketball games on Feb. 14.
In letters to PHS Principal Tim Wormald, WHSAA Commissioner Ron Laird congratulated the athletes.
“Sportsmanship is a goal that all our coaches and athletes should have as they participate in activities,” Laird wrote.
The Park County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees recognized the students during a March meeting.
