The Powell Pioneers C team wrapped up its 2021 regular season on a high note.
Powell cruised to wins over Riverton Friday, defeating the Raiders 23-8 and 19-5 in a doubleheader.
Max Reynolds was the offensive star in the doubleheader, going 7-for-7 with eight RBIs. Taeson Shultz earned the win in game one, throwing four strong innings. In game two, Kolby Gates and Hugo Torres were pivotal in the batter’s box, each going 2-for-2 with five RBIs.
Just three days prior, the Pioneers destroyed Cody, winning 16-0 and 12-2. The Pioneers enter the postseason as the No. 2 seed in the Northwest Conference, with an 8-4 league record. They posted a 13-17 overall record.
The C team heads to Rock Springs this week for the state tournament. Powell begins the tournament Thursday evening with a game against Cheyenne.
