The Panther Stadium turf is available for pickup on Tuesday morning from 8-11 a.m. after workers performed a quick turnaround and removal after construction began June 1.
Support services coordinator Rob McCray said Monday that there should be approximately 350 rolls of turf available, and it will be given out free of charge on a first come, first serve basis.
Each roll weighs roughly 2,000 pounds each, and when unrolled is 7 1/2 feet wide by 40 feet long.
The rolled up turf is 30 inches in diameter.
Turf will only be placed onto trailers, and will not be placed into the beds of trucks.
McCray said that there is no limit to the number of rolls that one person can take, the amount available to take will be based on the amount the trailer can hold.
There will be a loader available to load the bound rolls onto the trailer.
A statement from Park County School District 1 said that the district nor Hellas Construction will be responsible for issues that arise during the turf loading process.
The loading area will be in the gravel lot east of the football field, and staging for those that are waiting to receive turf will be the student parking lot on the east side of the high school.
He said that any turf that is not picked up on Tuesday will be disposed of, but the hope of the district is to not send any turf to the landfill.
McCray said that the quick removal does not put the replacement of the turf ahead of schedule, and that the district still plans for the new turf to be available for use in July alongside the high school track.
