The Powell High School cross country teams continued the 2019 season at Friday’s Hardin Invitational, with the boys finishing third out of 15 teams and the girls sixth out of 15 teams.

Pfeifer third overall, Panthers third as team

The Powell High School cross country teams continued the 2019 season at Friday’s Hardin Invitational, with the boys finishing third out of 15 teams and the girls sixth out of 15 teams.

Panther junior Tyler Pfeifer finished third overall for the boys, with a time of 18:10.82. Kayla Kolpitcke was the top finisher for the Lady Panthers, placing 15th with a time of 23:13.81.

Sam Fulbright of Fergus finished in the top spot for boys with a time of 17:14.55, while Colstrip’s Hayley Burns was first on the girls’ side with a time of 20:23.98.

Senior Kolpitcke’s time of 23:13.81 was good for 15th place.

Sophomore Kabrie Cannon was second among Lady Panther finishers and just three spots behind teammate Kolpitcke at 18th with a time of 23:15.68.

Cannon was followed by Karina Boreen, who finished 25th with a time of 24:43.45. Teammate Elisa Polson was 38th with a time of 25:59.70.

Kaitlyn Decker placed 41st with a time of 26:14.88, followed by Hailee Hyde in 46th place with a time of 26:35.49.

Jenna Merritt rounded out the Lady Panthers’ varsity contingent, placing 57th with a time of 29:20.38.

On the boys’ side, Pfeifer scored his first top three performance of the season with a time of 18:10.82.

Joey Hernandez was 12th with a time of 18:51.40.

Lane Franks finished 28th, posting a time of 19:56.98, while Daniel Merritt finished 31st with a time of 20:05.24.

Cole Frank was 35th at 20:18.69, while Riley Schiller was 38th with a time of 20:26.51.

The PHS cross country teams are on the road to Red Lodge Saturday for their third straight meet in Montana.
