Patty, 66, went to “The House Not Made By Human Hands” on May 4, 2021, in Billings, Montana, after suffering severe side effects from cancer treatments. She spent the previous weekend at home in Powell, surrounded by family and friends.

Patty was born on Jan. 26, 1955, to Frank and Kay Tanner at the Bishop Randall Hospital in Lander, Wyoming. She was raised in Lander alongside her brother, Chuck, and numerous cousins. She graduated from Lander Valley High School in 1973.

She participated in 4-H and many school activities. Patty loved hunting, fishing and being outside. Patty was an avid gardener and would preserve all of the bounty she and Rex produced. She was also an amazing seamstress, making many quilts for family and friends. Her artistic side would shine when trying many kinds of arts and crafts.

She was extremely active in all of the churches she attended and left a lasting impression on most of the people she came in contact with. She was a hard and diligent worker. No matter what she undertook, she expected perfection in herself. Patty would always speak her mind in truth and love. She served the Lord willingly with the greatest of love and generosity.

She is survived by her husband, Rex, of Powell, brother Chuck Tanner (Mary) of Lander, her niece, Aspen Tanner-Joiner (Justin), Clayton Tanner (Bethany) and Little Raven; daughter Sarah Rich of Powell, three step daughters, Stephanie Legstra-Harrington (Al), Danielle Rich-Dalton (Mike) and Ashley Rich-Davis (Travis). Patty was blessed with 11 grandchildren: Matthew, Maddie, Adrienne, Tommy, Zack, Trynity, Mikayla, Lane, Kelton, Katie, and Dallas.  She is also survived by uncle Rolly Gimple, and cousins Steve (Valerie) Gimple, Renee Gimple-Hancock (Frank), Ed Gimple (Wendy), Sue Tanner-Page (John), Tom Tanner (Trish), Vickie Tanner-Lucas (Dave).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Kay, and cousins Bill and Glenn Tanner, and quite a few aunts and uncles.

A memorial celebration has taken place. A graveside service in Lander, Wyoming, will be set at a later date.
