Park County Republicans hosting barbecue for graduates

The Park County Republican Men’s Club has announced an upcoming event for all graduating Park County senior boys, including homeschoolers. To honor their achievement, the club will host a barbecue at 1 p.m. on Sunday, May 16, in the Kuyper Room at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody.

Patriot Prizes will be awarded to the winners of an essay competition. The rules and topic are outlined in the prize application, and the winners of the first, second and third cash prizes will receive a certificate and their awards at the event.

Applications are available in high school guidance offices for interested students. The cutoff date for entries is May 10. Entries can be submitted to guidance offices or by email to Carol Armstrong, carolarmstrong@centurylink.net.

Organizers say the event will include “a delicious menu and outstanding entertainment.” The keynote speaker is Ovie Muntean, who escaped communist Romania in his youth and will share his inspiring story.

President Andris Vaskis and the other members of the Park County Republican Men’s Club said they “extend heartfelt congratulations to the graduates and look forward to greeting them at the barbecue.”

Seniors planning to attend the event need to RSVP by Thursday, May 6, by contacting Armstrong at 307-587-6192 or carolarmstrong@centurylink.net.
