Park County Library unveils summer reading programs

Posted

May is Get Caught Reading Month, so this is a perfect time to come visit the library and grab your next book. Park County Library will be hosting Book Tastings throughout our libraries all month long. Come enjoy this unique and fun way to discover your next book to read.

Yoga is free at the library, join us at the Powell Library for yoga time today (Thursday) at 6:30 p.m.

Do you love books and would love to chit chat with other readers? Then join Brittany for adult book discussion. The book for May is “A Gentlemen in Moscow.” Make sure to pick up your copy at the circulation desk.

Author Linda Thomas will be presenting a program on crystal healing at the Powell Library on Friday, May 28 at 2 p.m. Please sign up in advance at the library.

Join our fabulous children’s librarian, Ms. Renee, for Toddler Time every Monday and Friday at 10:30 a.m. and Story Time every Tuesday and Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. If your kindergarten through fifth grader loves Legos, make sure and sign them up for Lego Club.

Park County Library will be at John Wesley Powell Days, so make sure and stop by our table, say hello and discover all the fun activities the library is doing.

If you love books, make sure and visit the Powell Library every first Saturday from 10 a.m. -1 p.m. and every Thursday from 1-3 p.m. for the Friends of the Library Book Sale. Find that long forgotten treasure, plus you help support the library with the purchase of books.

The last Friday of the month, May 28 at 3:30 p.m., stop at any of our three libraries and join in silent book club. It’s a great chance to share what you are currently reading or just see what other people are reading. Then after a quick share session, find a quiet spot in the library and quietly enjoy reading.

Remember Park County libraries will be celebrating summer reading starting June 1 at all three of our libraries. We will have two full months filled with fun programs and performances. This is a great way to keep children interested in reading through the summer and we will have summer reading for teens and adults as well.
