Park County libraries to reopen Monday

Beginning Monday, Park County’s libraries will be open for limited hours on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

In a news release announcing the reopening, library officials said the Powell, Cody and Meeteetse facilities will be available “for quick browsing and checkout.”

High-risk individuals are invited from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, with regular hours from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

“As people enter the library, a greeter will meet them to answer questions,” explained the library system’s release, adding that, “We strongly encourage people to wear face masks and maintain a social distance of 6 feet while in the building.”

The libraries’ seating and public computers will not be available, but the Wi-Fi signal has been extended into the parking lot for public internet access, with no password required.

All returns must be placed in the outdoor book drops and patrons are asked to place any items they touch while browsing in the library into designated bins. Library officials added that they may be required by the Park County Public Health Department to put measures in place for contact tracing in the event of a COVID-19 infection.

Curbside service will continue in Powell from 9 a.m. to 5:20 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Patrons can call 307-754-8828 to arrange pickup.

Curbside service will remain available with slightly different hours in Cody (307-527-1880) and Meeteetse (307-868-2248) as well.
