Natural gas increase
The Wyoming Public Service Commission (Commission) approved the Application of Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. to pass on a net gas cost increase of $0.179 per dekatherm (Dth) for residential and firm general customers, and small and large interruptible customers, and an increase of $2.468 for seasonal customers, effective on and after October 1, 2024, subject to notice, protest, intervention, refund, change, further investigation, opportunity for hearing and further order of the Commission.
MDU’s proposal results in an increase of $1.27 for a typical MDU residential customer using 7.10 Dth in October 2024. Actual bills will vary with usage.
Commission Rule Chapter 3, Section 26, allows a utility to pass on to its customers known or projected commodity cost increases or decreases on a dollar-for-dollar basis, subject to public notice , opportunity for hearing and refund.
