Margaret “Peggy” Johanna Talbott, 80, was born in Greybull on Oct. 4, 1938, to Edward Everett Talbott and Inez Margaret Alderdice Talbott. She passed away in Billings, Montana, on June 9, 2019, with family by her side.

She grew up in Elk Basin and Powell. She was a client of Big Horn Enterprises and lived in their Thermopolis group home since January 1980.

She was outgoing and kind hearted. She easily made friends and liked to visit with people when she was out and about in Thermopolis. Margaret enjoyed bowling, picnics, fishing, camping and watching movies. She participated in Special Olympics, and her favorite pastimes were art and completing beautiful jigsaw puzzles, which were framed and hung in the workshop.

She attended First Baptist Church in Thermopolis. Margaret was fortunate to travel to Branson, Missouri, and the Black Hills in South Dakota, and shared fond memories of these for years to come.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Jacquelyn Haigh McArthur, William Talbott, Gerald (Mike) Talbott and Nancy Harvey; niece Susan Pruett and nephew Jerry McArthur.

Survivors include sister-in-law Joan Talbott; nieces and nephews Joni Williams, Jim Haigh, Scott McArthur, Cathy Wilson, Diana Birkrem, Ed Talbott, Mike Talbott, John Talbott, Pat Talbott, Georgia Harvey-Mason, Jeri Harvey, Teri Cozzens and Chris Galindo; and their children and grandchildren.

The family is forever grateful to BHE staff, especially those at her home, who provided such compassionate and loving care and became family to Margaret. She often spoke about how she loved you dearly.

A celebration of Margaret’s life will be held Friday, June 28, 2019, at 1 p.m. at the Big Horn Enterprises shop, 641 Warren St., in Thermopolis. Private graveside services will be held on June 29 at Crown Hill Cemetery in Powell.

Memorials may be made to Special Olympics of Montana or Wyoming, or a charity of one’s choice.
