Dear Editor:
The Heart Mountain Wyoming Foundation depends on the support of our members, generous private donors and the government to tell the history of the Japanese American incarceration during World War II.
That’s why we were particularly concerned when apparent mail theft caused the potential loss of a significant donation.
That problem was resolved, however, by the intervention of Sen. Cynthia Lummis and her staff, particularly Powell-based Field Representative Jennifer Fernandez and General Counsel Chris Land. We went to Sen. Lummis for help because of her position as a member of the Senate Banking Committee. Their diligence enabled us to cut through the banking bureaucracy and recover the donation.
This is the kind of constituent service that makes a difference, and we are grateful to have Sen. Lummis’ support.
Sincerely,
Shirley Ann Higuchi
