It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lori J. Smalley, a dedicated individual who spent 28 years of her life working with the mentally disabled. Born on Aug. 20, 1958, in Naugatuck, Connecticut, Lori was a compassionate soul who touched the lives of many during her career.

Lori's commitment to her work was evident in her numerous accolades, having been awarded the best in her field an impressive 10 separate times. Her passion for helping others truly set her apart and left a lasting legacy on all those she cared for.

On Sept. 8, 1989, in Watertown, Connecticut, Lori exchanged vows with the love of her life, Jack Smalley. Their union was a testament to their deep bond and unwavering commitment to each other. Together, they embarked on a journey filled with love, laughter and cherished memories.

Lori is survived by her loving husband, Jack, who stood by her side through thick and thin. She is also survived by her son, Louis Yagouane, and three adoring grandchildren. In her passing, Lori leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion and dedication that will be cherished by all who knew her.

Lori's final rest came on Aug. 9, 2024, in Powell, Wyoming, where she peacefully passed away. Though she may no longer be with us, her spirit lives on in the memories she created and the lives she touched. Lori's kindness, generosity and unwavering dedication to her work will forever be remembered and celebrated by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
