Local blood drives scheduled for New Year

Posted

A Powell community blood drive is set for noon-6 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 6 at the Park County Fairgrounds. This drive at Homesteader Hall will not use telerecruiters to set appointments, but residents who want to particpate may go to www.bit.ly/34RTNym and set an appointment.

Sherri Houston with Vitalant.org said that, because people are looking for ways to help their community, more donations have been made or scheduled and there are not many appointment slots available.

“We are grateful that a lot of our appointment slots are full. Because of that I would like to ... let our community know Trinity Bible Church will also host a blood drive,” Houston wrote.

The Trinity blood drive will be held from 1:30-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 7. The church is located at 535 S. Evarts St. and donors can go to www.bit.ly/3hEdz5T and make an appointment to donate.

Masks are required at either donation event and walk-ins are welcome. A health history questionnaire may be found and filled out online at www.vitalant.org.

Vitalant is also drawing plasma from COVID survivors who have been symptom free for more than 28 days. Those donors should fill out a different questionnaire at www.vitalant.org/covidfree and should let the facility know they are interested in donating plasma when they make their appointment.
