Letter writer was unfair to women

Posted

Dear Editor:

I read John Bynum’s letter to the editor. What I can’t understand is why he came down so hard on women. According to him, women aren’t equal to men. Men can have careers, but women can’t.

Maybe he doesn’t know that most women have to work because their husband doesn’t make enough money to support his family, illness or because he has abandoned them altogether. Some women are the sole provider for their family. Some women are lucky enough to have careers. According to him that is a big no no.

Why didn’t he come down on the men who are making it hard on women who have careers? Women are being harassed, sexually abused and raped in the workplace by men.

I think it would be well if he turns from his holier than thou comments and concentrate on what he says he believes.
