Judy Morris, 72, passed away on March 21, 2019, in Powell.
She was born on May 5, 1946, in Coalville, Utah, to Clarence and Betsy (Longhurst) Bruce.
Judy married Homer David Morris on Dec. 21, 1968. They lived in Greybull.
She was a teacher for 30 years.
Judy was highly educated. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wyoming, where she later received her master’s of science in home economics. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and received another master’s degree in library and informational sciences from Brigham Young University.
Judy enjoyed quilting, gardening, walking, cooking and spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the PEO and FHA. A member of the Friends of the Library, she was an avid reader and reading advocate. For 14 years, she served on the Children’s Resource Center Board of Directors.
She won the Association for Career and Technical Education Hall of Fame award in 2007.
Judy was loved dearly by her family and will be missed like crazy.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
She is survived by her husband Homer David Morris, her sons Kane (Tracy) Morris and Bart (Wendy) Morris, her brother Bob Bruce, and her sisters Betty (Scott) Cornia and June Morris; and grandchildren Sierra and Garrett Morris.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her name be sent to the Big Horn Basin Cancer Center, American Cancer Society, the educational projects of the Greybull PEO chapter, the Greybull library, or any Parkinson disease foundation.
A celebration of her life will be held on March 30, 2019, at 2 p.m. at the Elk’s Lodge, 622 Greybull Avenue in Greybull.
