Jeffery Keith Hauser, 60, of Powell, passed away on July 19, 2022, after a short but intense battle with cancer.

Jeff was born on Nov. 11, 1961, to James Keith Hauser and Laura (Loraine) Hauser née Schneider in Logansport, Indiana. After graduating from Winamac High School in 1981 he went on to study Computer Science at Indiana Vocational College and later Indiana Wesleyan University.

After graduation, he landed his first job in computer technology for Plymouth Tube Company, kicking off a more than 30-year career in information technology.

He met and fell in love with Jill McLeland and they wed in 1980, going on to have a daughter Jennifer Kristen Hauser. Later in 1994 he married Darlene Vernice Pitcher. They blended their family to include Danielle Vernice Summers (Pitcher), Nicole Lee Pitcher and Brandi Hope Auskalnis (Pitcher).

Jeff was a devoted and loving husband and father. He had many hobbies. To know Jeff was to understand that he was an “all in kind of person.” He excelled at everything that interested him. He worked in computer technology but was an educator at heart, teaching community education classes and co-workers alike.

Jeff asked to be cremated, that his ashes would be mixed with those of his beloved dog (Jack), and then blown out in a cannon over the Bighorn Mountains where he loved to camp, fish and hunt. A celebration of life will be planned in the future.

Jeff was preceded in death by both his mother Laura (Loraine) and father James Keith Hauser. He is survived by his wife Darlene; daughters: Jennifer (Scott) Weber, Danielle (Carl) Summers, Nikki Pitcher, and Brandi (Joe) Auskalnis; grandchildren Hailey (Christopher) Ames, Serena Owens, Zachary Garrison, Dexter Fortner, Clementine Fortner and Colton Weber; as well as a great-grandson, Everett Owens. Jeff was very excitedly awaiting the birth of a second great-grandson, Sterling Jeffery Alan Ames.
