PUBLIC NOTICE
The Wyoming Public Service Commission (Commission) approved the Application of Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. (MDU or the Company), to pass on a wholesale gas cost decrease of $1.879 per dekatherm (Dth) to its Optional Seasonal Gas Service, Rate 72 customers, effective on and after April 1, 2020. MDU divides its Rate 72 customers into winter (October 1 through March 31) and summer (April 1 through September 30) rates. The Commission approved the current cost of gas in Docket No. 30013-359-GP-20 (Record No. 15420). Based on the current cost of gas, the proposed rate decrease for Rate 72 customers is within the normal threshold for annual adjustments to normalize the rate changes in the respective seasonal rate period, here the summer rate period, for service used, beginning on April 1, 2020.
The Commission’s approval is subject to notice, protest, intervention, refund, change, further investigation, opportunity for hearing and further order of the Commission.
Commission Rule Chapter 3, Section 26 allows a utility to pass on to its customers known or projected commodity cost increases or decreases on a dollar-for-dollar basis, subject to public notice, opportunity for hearing and refund.
MDU’s Application is on file at the Commission’s offices in Cheyenne, Wyoming, and is available for inspection by any interested person during regular business hours or online at: http://psc.state.wy.us/.
